It sounds good even at very low volumes, but you can pull it to levels otherwise forbidden, because the round, midrange-focused sound hits the sternum instead of piercing the eardrums. The volume of the clean channel (spectacular!) affects the behavior of the sucessive Overdrive stages, so it’s the key to getting clear, crystalline distorts or a more saturated, closed Clapton-like ove4rdrive.
