Supertone Special 20-50-100W
This is the Atom version of the legendary Dumble Overdrive Special (Hi Plate-HRM). Thanks to multiple preamp stages connected in cascade, it offers a range of sounds from clean Fender-style to aggressive overdrive, whilst always remaining defined and creamy. Maximum dynamics and three-dimensional sound at any volume level. caratteristiche tecnichedescrizione
Supertone Special 20-50-100W
Available in different finishes and power ratings, the Supertone Special can be extensively customised to suit the guitarist’s needs (effects loop, reverb, finishes on request, specific electrical and voicing specifications, etc.), even at a later date. This is possible because it is a totally handcrafted product, with each amplifier being made one at a time.

Description:
Atom Amplifiers’ most complete amplifier: the Supertone Special. It is directly inspired by the Dumble ODS (Hi-Plate HRM version), used by guitarists such as Robben Ford, Larry Carlton and many others. It is an amplifier with astounding sonic possibilities: clear, bright and dynamic cleans, while the overdrive is rich, creamy and compressed.
After countless prototypes, tests and lab measurements, careful component selection and the design of an optimal layout to ensure top reliability, the result achieved with the Atom Supertone Special is top notch: an amp that sounds amazing at any volume, is robust and easy to transport thanks to its compact size and weight!
The multiple controls allow for unparalleled sound customisation; it is a professional machine. The Clean channel is a formidable platform for pedals: huge headroom, unique dynamics and touch sensitivity (just like on Mr. Dumble’s famous SSS).
There are three selectors on the faceplate: Bright (increases the brightness of the sound, especially at low volume settings), Mid (raises the harmonic content in the mid-frequency range), Deep (deeper bass, slightly ‘hollow’ mids Blackface style) or Jazz-Rock (changes the EQ response curve; on Jazz, the gain is low and the curve is similar to the Fender Blackface; on Rock, the gain is higher and there is emphasis on the mid-high range).
The Overdrive channel stands out for its clarity, definition, body, warmth and rich tone: it is no coincidence that the multistage distortion designed by Mr. Dumble was later adopted by all manufacturers of hi-gain guitar amplifiers. You can play on the edge of slight break-up, using only the pick to switch from clean to overdrive. Or, by turning up the Overdrive control, you can make your guitar sound with a powerful ‘violin-like’ distortion.
The FET boost is a field effect transistor (FET) preamp located right at the input of the amplifier: it can give the signal the extra ‘kick’ you need, whether you want to saturate the Clean channel or increase the gain of the Overdrive channel.
The Reverb control operates the amplifier’s spring reverb circuit. It was a real challenge to implement reverb in an amplifier inspired by the Dumble ODS, which is very complex and offers a wide range of tonal possibilities. This is why most manufacturers prefer not to include it. But at Atom we have succeeded in doing so: it is a reverb that, at the beginning of the range, can be barely noticeable and soft so as not to ‘disturb’ the guitarist’s playing. Or, at higher values, it can become very present across the whole tonal spectrum.
